Self-Awareness and Leadership Development

Know What Drives You.
The CoachStation Personal Values Assessment.

A structured, self-guided process that takes you from 100 values to your Primary 20 and Core 10. Insight, clarity, and a foundation for more intentional leadership and decision-making.

Why This Matters

Most people cannot name their values. Fewer still can apply them.

If I asked you to write down your top 20 personal values in order right now, you would not be able to. Not because you do not have them. Because values are rarely made explicit. They operate below the surface, shaping how you react under pressure, what motivates you, what frustrates you, and how you lead others.

This assessment changes that. It does not ask you to select your values from a list. It takes you through a structured process of elimination across multiple passes, until the values that matter most to you emerge naturally. The process itself often reveals as much as the result.

Who This Is For

Built for leaders, professionals, and anyone ready for genuine self-awareness.

Individuals

You want to understand what drives your decisions, reactions, and relationships. You are at a crossroads, considering a career change, stepping into a new role, or simply ready to lead with more clarity and intention.

Leaders and Managers

You lead a team and want to understand yourself better before trying to understand others. Values-aware leaders make more consistent decisions, build stronger trust, and create environments where people genuinely want to contribute.

HR Leaders and Organisations

You are preparing a team for a workshop, leadership program, or values alignment conversation. The online assessment allows participants to complete the process in their own time, so the face-to-face session focuses entirely on translation and application.

What You Get

A complete values profile in around 30 minutes.

The assessment takes you through six structured stages:

1
Discovery Sort — Work through 100 values one at a time, keeping or setting aside each one across as many passes as needed until your Primary 20 emerge.
2
Primary 20 Review — Reflect on what your 20 remaining values reveal as a group. Four categories help you see where your values cluster.
3
Reduce to 15 — Set aside five values to begin identifying what sits closest to your core.
4
Reduce to Your Core 10 — Your 10 Core Values emerge. These are the values most likely to drive your decisions, shape your reactions under pressure, and define what feels meaningful in your work and life.
5
Rank Your Core 10 — Place your Core Values in order from most to least central. The ranking is one of the most useful outputs of the entire process.
6
Your Results — A full summary showing your values ranked 1 to 20 with category breakdown, reflection prompts, and actions to take next.

Your progress saves automatically. You can pause and return at any point on the same device.

The Facilitated Option

Prefer a guided, face-to-face experience?

The original CoachStation values process is a facilitated card-sort activity conducted in person as part of a coaching engagement or workshop. The tactile nature of the process and the real-time conversation it generates have their own distinct value, particularly in a group setting where shared discovery and discussion are part of the outcome.

If you are interested in the facilitated version as part of a leadership coaching program or team workshop, book a discovery call to explore what that looks like.

About the Process

Fifteen years of facilitation. Now available online.

CoachStation has used values-based processes with leaders and teams since 2009. The facilitated values assessment, based on research conducted with more than 250,000 working professionals, has been the foundation of hundreds of coaching conversations across industries and organisational levels.

The online assessment brings that same structured process into a self-guided format, without losing the rigour or the depth of reflection the original process generates. It is not a quiz. It is not a personality type. It is a priority exercise that reveals what matters most to you when you are honest with yourself about it.

Many of us can name our values when asked. Far fewer can rank them, explain why they are in that order, and describe where they are currently in or out of alignment with how we actually live and lead. This assessment helps you do all three.
