Before your first coaching session, take the time to set your leadership foundations and prepare for a meaningful, action-driven development experience.

📘 Introduction, Objectives & Overview

Welcome to your CoachStation Leadership Development Program (CSLDP).

Before you move into the core leadership modules, it’s important to build the foundations that will set you up for success.

In this introductory module, you will learn how CSLDP works, how to get the most from the experience, and how to approach your leadership development with clarity, consistency, and purpose.

You have full access to all Modules from the links in your Dashboard, allowing you to work through the content at your own pace.

🎬 Your Intro Video

Watch this short introduction as Steve outlines the core concepts of CSLDP, and what to focus on as you move through the program. A reminder that you now have access to all of the modules, which can be found in the section above. We recommend viewing each one every 3-4 weeks to maintain a learning rhythm and allow time for practice.

📌 Tip: Take notes while watching or jot down a question or challenge it raises. You will reference it during your reflections and coaching session.

“The essence of leadership is not giving things or even providing visions. It is offering oneself and one's spirit.”

🎧 Podcast Feature: Building Championship Cultures & Leadership in the NFL

Transforming Team Culture through Trust and Authentic Leadership

In this CSLDP Intro episode, Dr Fred Johnson explores how lasting culture change begins with trust, transparency, and authentic leadership. Drawing on work from NFL locker rooms to corporate boardrooms, he explains how the muscle memory of behaviour shapes performance and culture.

Dr Johnson examines the role of vulnerability in leadership, the behaviours that create psychological safety, and why clarity and consistency matter more than charisma when setting cultural standards. He links elite sport insights with practical leadership actions you can use immediately in your team.

Key takeaway: Sustainable culture change starts with leaders who model the behaviour they expect from others, in every conversation, every day.

This episode will help you:

  • Recognise and shift behaviours that block trust and collaboration
  • Strengthen transparency and communication across the team
  • Build a culture grounded in authenticity, accountability, and shared purpose

💡 Reflect and Act

What are you committing to practise between now and your next session?

Leadership growth comes through action. Considering your reading, notes and references from this module, make a personal commitment to apply what you’ve learned in practice.

These questions are designed to drive engagement, accountability and continuous development, ensuring that your coaching program delivers real value. Small, consistent actions lead to lasting change. Your leadership journey continues with what you choose to do next.

🪞 Reflections

These reflective questions are designed to help you pause and think as you prepare to begin the CSLDP journey. Each module will introduce similar questions, allowing opportunity to personalise key learnings from the material and identify action.

Question 1:

What kind of leader do I want to be known as, and what am I currently doing that supports or contradicts that identity?

This question prompts alignment between intent and behaviour, laying the foundation for authenticity and self-accountability.

Question 2:

Where do I feel most confident in my leadership right now — and where do I feel least confident or unsure?

This helps surface both strengths and growth areas early, allowing for more targeted learning and coaching throughout the program.

Learning Check & Actions

Progress happens when intention turns into action.

Each module will provide an opportunity for you to reflect on your learning and identify actions to practice between sessions.

Whether small or significant, these next steps are how you will apply this module content in the real world.

Have a go at answering these based on the Introductory Module content. We will discuss and explore further during your first coaching session.

Q1: Reflection at this early stage

What is one leadership behaviour or mindset you know you need to change and what’s been holding you back?

If this program were successful for you, what would be different at the end of the coaching in how you lead, think, or work?
